Located between Palm Trees, on its own private white sandy beach, guests can either fish the estuary on light tackle/ fly fishing, or can take to the open seas via the always open mouth of the estuary to the bay of Inhambane and Offshore, with the use of one of our three boats all guided by experienced fishing guides. You can catch anything from a Half Beak in the estuary, to a Black Marlin offshore, and everything in-between - we catch them all. We have a strong catch and release policy, as we want to conserve our oceans.

Guests are encouraged to fly into Inhambane Airport (one and a half hours from Johannesburg International Airport, accessible via LAM airways, four times per week), where we will come and collect you, and within an hour of landing, you would be fishing.  Alternatively you can drive to the lodge (situated 450km north of Maputo) - safe parking at the Lodge is provided for. Area Attractions

Saltwater Game Fishing:

Depending on the tides, we like to leave early morning, and return late afternoon each day. We can either fish in the estuary, in the bay, or open water for pelagic game fish. We often fish the late afternoon shift, and come back at last light. Early morning and late afternoon normally produce some good fish.

Inhambane Bay seems to be a breeding ground for Marlin, and juvenile Marlin is often caught on light tackle. We get Four different types of Trevally- Ignoblis, Bluefin, Yellowfin and Bludger (King fish), Queen fish, Spanish mackerel, Queen mackerel, Job fish, and then Sailfish, Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo and Barracuda, are our favourite hunts. The best time of the year for fishing is from November till June.

We do live bait, dead bait, trolling, drop shot, Lure and Plug casting, jigging, spooning.
Our tackle is all Shimano and Penn equipment, 6, 10, 15, 24 kg IGFA line classes.

Fly-fishing:

There are a few places off the Mozambique coastline where one has protected water for saltwater Fly-fishing. We have it.

We either fish the estuary, or our boats allow us to go offshore for the big ones. The point of the estuary also produces some good fish one hour before high tide, and just on the turn of the tide.

Estuary Fishing:

We can always fish somewhere, no matter where the wind is blowing from. The estuary is navigable for ten miles and offers an exciting variance to offshore fishing. It also offers flat water for those who get seasick easily. Mangrove snapper, Grunter, Pompano and River Gurnard are caught, mostly on light tackle, and fly.
