Farol da Barra is 483 km’s north of Maputo and 27 km’s from the provincial capital of Inhambane. Follow the EN1 north from Maputo through Xai-Xai (noting these will be the last traffic lights you will see for the rest of your holiday). Around 50 km’s from Inharrime a sign board indicating Lindela (can recommend the Vetkoek from Quinita San Antonio on the left just before the turn off). Take the right fork to Inhambane. (if you get to Maxixe you missed the fork). Continue straight till you see the harbour pier on your left then turn right, travel on straight through the main street to a large circle after which you turn right following signs to Tofo, Barra and Aeroporto. Continue on out of town on the Tofo/Barra road till you get to Barbabalaza, road curves to right but you need to continue straight on new tar road. Aprox 7 km’s down the road you will get to ‘sign board corner’, take road to the right past Anda Ca lodge. Road splits either can be taken but the left is better for 2 wheel drives carry on until you pass under a wooden walkway. The road continues past a lake which is on your left, keep following till you get to Barra Estates, then turn onto the beach (remember to deflate your tyres and engage 4x4) follow the tracks towards the lighthouse and you will see Farol da Barra just before the point. Check in at Reception to collect the keys
