Area AttractionsCahora Bassa has been relatively ?unfished? for 25 years so some individuals have managed to reach unbelievable sizes. During December 1996 a 14.9kg tiger was landed with Tigers weighing between 4-8 Kg being commonly caught. The lake also contains a variety of bream species, including Mossambica, three-spot and red-breast, as well as barbel/catfish and their larger cousins the vundu. The odd Cornish Jack and smaller members of the bottle-nose family are also present, as are the hard fighting chessa and nkupe.
